Mughal era coins

Abhijit Sen, July 22, 2018: The Times of India

Silver coins and ornaments — believed to be from the Mughal era — were unearthed by a herder in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district. The coins bear Urdu inscriptions.

Sudesh Ram had taken his cattle for grazing in Pandeywara village when he spotted some shiny metallic objects on the ground. He looked closely to find some silver ornaments and coins. After a thorough search, he recovered a big earthen pot with 41 silver coins, which had Urdu inscriptions on them. ASI Nirbhay Singh said, “Our team recovered all 41 silver coins.”
