Rajnagar Town

Head-quarters of a pargana of the same name in the State of Udaipur, Rajputana, situated in 25 4' N. and 73 52' E., about 36 miles north by north-east of Udaipur city, and about a mile to the west of the lake called Raj Samand. Population (1901), 2,311. The town was founded by, and named after, Rana Raj Singh in the latter half of the seventeenth century. It contains a primary school attended by about 30 boys, and the marble quarries in the neighbour- hood are famous.
