Sailana Town

(Saldna], Capital of the State of the same name in Central India, situated in 23 28' N. and 74 57' E , at the foot of the Vmdhyas, 1,847 feet above sea-level. Sailana is 10 miles by metalled road from Namli station on the Rajputana-Malwa Railway, and 521 by lail from Bombay. Population (1901), 4,255 The town, Which dates from 1736, has no buildings of any note except the Raja's new palace A dispensary, an inspection bungalow, a British post office, a jail, and a school are situated within its limits.
