Saurath

Village in the Madhubam subdivision of Darbhanga" District, Bengal, situated in 26 24' N. and 86 3' E. Population (1901), 2,062. It is famous for the me/a (religious fair) which takes place annually in June or July, when large numbers of Brahmans assemble to settle their children's marriages. A fine temple to Mahadeo was built in 1845 by the Darbhanga Raj.
