Career

Winning Miss Madras contest in 1999 marked Trisha Krishnan's entry into filmdom. After her first appearance in the 1999 Tamil film Jodi, in a supporting role, she starred in her first lead role in the 2002 film Mounam Pesiyadhe.

2011 was a good year—the last good year for a while.

Theenmaar (Telugu) was a success.

Ajith Kumar's Mankatha was the biggest Tamil hit of the year—the last hit Trisha Krishnan would act in in the next three years. It was a multi-star film in which she did not get a chance to display any talent. Rival actress Raai Laxmi stole the show and walked away with the honours in a negative role, bagging the Chennai Times trophy as well as a Nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Trisha’s next few films did quite badly at the box office. Theenmaar, Bodyguard and Dammu were notable flops.

Trisha did not do well in Telugu either: and was associated with a number of flops in Telugu.

Trisha then tried her luck in Hindi-Urdu films. Her Filmistan debut Khatta Meetha was a moderate commercial success but did nothing for her career.

Considering that Trisha’s career was going nowhere, her mother Usha started looking for a husband for her. Some NRI proposals came their way but were rejected because Usha wanted a son in law based in Chennai.

Meanwhile, Trisha had two releases each in 2012 and 2013, and just one in 2014. However, 2015 might be a good year, with as many as four releases likely.

Relationship status

Tamil Cinema24<> Tollywood Daily 13 Aug 2014

Rana Daggubati

Trisha Krishnan denied being in a relationship with Rana Daggubati, but the rumour persisted because the two were seen often together--for a 'couple of years' [1]

In late 2014 the rumour mill had it that the two had broken up. Prakash Upadhyaya, IBTimes

Aug 2014: Trisha Krishnan’s ‘marriage’

In Aug 2014 ridiculous rumours started doing the rounds about Trisha Krishnan having got married. The rumour reflected more on the ones spreading the rumour than on Trisha.

For proof an authentic photograph of Trisha Krishnan sitting near a wedding mandapam was published by many websites.

Tollywood Daily hinted: 'There are many gossips going on Trisha that Daggupati Rana and Trisha were seen often together and may be there is something going on between these two.'

However, it was only a photo of her on-screen wedding with Punith Rajkumar in the Kannada film ‘Power.’

Varun Manian

Chennai-based businessman Varun Manian has been described as one of the most eligible bachelors in Chennai/ Tamil Nadu. He is a graduate from New York University, the managing director of Chennai’s Radiance Realty Developers India Ltd. and the co-producer of the Siddharth-starrer ‘Kaaviya Thalaivan’.

He is the heir apparent of a major business group.

A rumour about Varun and Trisha started in November 2014 when a diamond ring was seen on Trisha’s left hand. (The Hans India etc.)

People started assuming that the ring had come from Varun Manian. However, Trisha denied the rumour through Twitter—but not too vehemently.

She merely tweeted, ‘Ola people. FYI I am NOT engaged! If n when I do, u will hear it from me first.’

People interpreted this as meaning that there was still a possibility of her getting engaged to Varun at a later date. Apparently the two families have met and the marriage is likely around May 2015.

One person who was not impressed by Trisha’s denial was rival actress Raai Laxmi. She addressed Trisha as #fake and tweeted, “One should hv the balls to accept the truth abt their personallife! Surprised! why someone would lie abt a situation which is true #fake.”

The two actresses have sparred with each other in the past—on Twitter and on the screen.
