Earlier in 2020, a court, in a landmark ruling, acknowledged the equal rights of all three children of former Maharana Bhagwat Singh Mewar, the last titular ruler of the erstwhile princely state of Udaipur. The ruling brought an end to a 37-year-old dispute over the Mewar ex-royal family’s inheritance. The assets run into crores of rupees.
