Bahubali

February 4, 2024: mangaloretoday.com

Preparations for the Mahamastakabhisheka of Bhagavan Bahubali at Venoor in Belthangady Taluk, scheduled for February 22, are in full swing. The final stages of scaffolding construction are underway, and granite is being laid around Bahubali Betta at a cost of Rs 1 crore, provided by the minorities department. Cement plastering and the renovation of two Basadis in Bahubali Betta are also in progress, as mentioned by Mastakabhisheka Samithi Working President Padmaprasad Ajila of Aladangadi Aramane.

Renovation efforts extend to Akkangala Basadi and Binnani Basadi, located on either side of the Bahubali statue, as well as Kallu Basadi. The 35-ft-tall Bahubali statue at Venoor was originally installed by Veera Timmannarasa Ajila IV of the Ajila family in 1604. The last Mahamastakabhisheka in this location occurred in 2012.

The upcoming Mahamastakabhisheka will witness the presence of Amoghakeerthi Munimaharaja and Amarakeerthi Munimaharaja. Seers from Jain mutts in Hombuja, Karkala, Shravanabelagola, and Narasimharajapura will deliver discourses during the event.
