HOCKEY

1980 Moscow Olympics gold medal winner and former Indian hockey captain, Zafar Iqbal is one of the greatest Indian hockey players. He represented India at the 1978 Asian Games in Bangkok and was the captain of the team in the New Delhi Asian Games in 1982. He became the Indian coach after retirement and coached the team to the silver medal at the Asian Games in Hiroshima in 1994. He has received the Arjuna award and the Padma Shri for his invaluable contribution to Indian hockey.
