KORAPUT.png

The district headquarter Koraput is the base for visiting different tribal areas inhabited by Dangaria Kandha, Koyas, Parajas and Bondas. To visit more isolated areas and have real look at the tribal life and culture, tourist need to obtain permission from concerned District Administration. Adorned by the majestic Deomali Mountain, Koraput is most fascinating manifestation of creation with her undulating meadow, roaring rapids, whispering forest and terraced valleys. She offers a splendid blending of natural beauty and ethnic treasure with sublime sense deeply interfused. Spreadover rural tranquility and great forest lands. Sprawling grass lands and valleys leading up to verdant hills makes it cradle of nature. The muted song of gurgling brook with melodious call of cuckoo and franrance of wild flower mirrors natures own eternal symphony.

Koraput with her golden autumn and misty mornings of the monsoon months, her painted spring and slumbering summer provides varieties of living perhaps unmatched anywhere in the world. The elevating ghat roads spirally ascending the lofty hills and decending the steep valleys with blind curves make a journey thrilling. Railway passing through tannels piercing the heart of mountains, winding their way and encircling the green hills touching different picturesque spots enroute brings heaven to earth. In Koraput you realize what Wordsworth must have meant when he talked of man’s communication with nature.
