The air-conditioners, refrigerators and compressors, 2014-18

The government had recently increased import duties on 19 items, mostly white goods like refrigerators, ACs and compressors to narrow the current account deficit. The cooling industry has seen imports rise over the years. In fact, imports of air-conditioners, refrigerators and compressors have doubled in four years.
