Kanishtha Dhankar was born in Mumbai, stands five foot nine and a half, weighs in at 121 pounds and her measurements are 32-25-36. Geez...it sounds more like she's a boxer!. Kanishtha was crowned Pantaloons Femina Miss India on October 23rd, 2010. Unlike some of the Femina Miss India winners, Kanishtha has already appeared in films, notably the 2008 Bollywood film Fashion with Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Mugdha Godse and Arjan Bajwa. She placed in the top fifteen at the Miss World 2011 competition on November 6th, 2011 in London.

The gorgeous evening look for Miss India World 2011 Kanishtha Dhankhar was created by Naga fashion designer Atsu Sekhose. A master of creating red carpet gowns for Bollywood actresses in the likes of Aishwarya Rai and Sonam Kapoor, Atsu Sekhose designed a champagne-coloured delicate yet elegant gown for Kanishtha. When Kanishtha went for the final fitting session in Delhi, she was so much in love with the outfit that she said, "I feel more confident about the pageant now."

This Delhi girl represented India at the Miss Earth 2011 beauty pageant on December 3, 2011, in Manila, Philippines. She has modelled for several advertisements and is an environmental activist. Hasleen Kaur seems to be treading the same steady path to stardom. She has bagged a role in Suneel Darshan's film Karle Pyar Karle, in which she will be paired opposite the director's son, Shiv Darshan.She graced many fashion events, walked the ramp for reputed designers, featured on the Elite Fashion Calendar 2011, and even did a cameo in Imtiaz Ali's movie 'Love Aaj Kal'.

Ankita Shorey had a memorable stay in China when she went as India's entry to compete for the Miss International title in the year 2011. Her experience in China was worth chronicling as she discovered a new culture, made friends and travelled to different places within the country. The one thing that she is proud of is the exquisite beauty of Indian wear that other contestants in the competition seemed to be floored by. In one of her earlier interviews, she'd said that quite a number of participating women fell in love with her immaculately designed lehenga-choli and requested her to get something similar made for them as well. Designers Shantanu and Nikhil stitched the finale gown for Ankita Shorey and B-town's favourite sartorialist Manish Malhotra designed her national costume. True to his love for handicraft, Manish Malhotra did an interesting mix of Kashmiri embroidery, Rajasthani gota and chikankari that he felt would represent Indian culture at its best on the International stage. During the costume parade round Ankita Shorey made heads turn as she looked ravishing in Manish's creation. This was also the year when Manish Malhotra created an outfit for a Miss India for the first time as opposed to the veteran Ritu Kumar who usually designs the national costumes for the participating beauties.

Parul Duggal, 24, was studying fashion at the Pearl Academy in Delhi, when a choreographer suggested that she take to the ramp instead. Winner of I Am She 2011, she also became the first runner-up at Miss Globe International in Cyprus. She will head to Milan next year to do her postgraduation in fashion design.
