The 38 most popular Hindi-Urdu songs of 1993
A note about the credits
The creators of the songs of the film Aaja Meri Jaan seem to have generated frenzied guessing. Let us take the song Paagal dil mera tumse ye keh raha, which made it to the Geetamala. A usually reliable website credits its singing to S P Balasubramaniam and Anuradha Paudwal; music to Amar Utpal, RD Burman, and Nikhil-Vinay; and lyrics to Rani Malik. However, a usually reliable book credits the same, respectively, to Sonu Nigam; Amar- Utpal; and Akhlâq Sâgari.
Therefore, the Indpaedia team turned to the film’s credit titles. The various songs of the film have been sung by Anuradha Paudwal, S. P. Balsubramaniam and Mano (no Sonu Nigam); written by Yogesh, Kulwant Jani and Rani Malik (no Akhlaaq Saagari); and composed by Amar- Utpal. Only the background score is by Nikhil-Vinay.
How did Rahul Dev Burman pop in? Apparently, the title song of the film (not the song in question) has used the tune of a Bengali song composed and sung by good ole Pancham himself.
So, there.
